Dear Doctor Hecht
Thank you so much for the big cup and pen, I loved it. I put all my change in it when I come home everyday. Although this is very late, thank you so much for helping when my tooth fell out. Without you it wouldn’t be the same.
Thank you again,
Dear Dr. Hecht & Staff
(10/27/05) Thank you for being so pleasant and understanding. It was a hard decision for me to get my tooth pulled. I’m glad I came into your office and gave myself a chance to try oral sedation. It was a beautiful experience and I was very calm and comfortable. I appreciate the throw that was put over my legs and the soft music. I have never been treated with such kindness. I will definitely recommend you to my family and friends.
Dear Dr. Hecht & Staff,
I would like to extend my sincere appreciation and thanks to Dr. Hecht and his wonderful staff. I had not been to a dentist for over five years and knew that I had no choice but to make an appointment to see someone.
Like so many others I had a tremendous fear of dentists. Just hearing the word dentist or hygienist sent me into a state of panic. After many, many sleepless nights wrought with anxiety and fear I searched the yellow pages and saw Dr. Hecht’s advertisement.
From the moment I made the initial phone call and spoke with Lisa I felt better although still apprehensive. At my first appointment when I met Keri and Dr. Hecht I knew I had made the right choice. Dr. Hecht really does understand what being afraid means. His technique and chair-side manner are truly that of a professional.
My fear of dentists was compounded by my fear of hygienists. Then I met Aida. She is a gentle, caring person who immediately put me at ease.
Once again thanks to Dr. Hecht, Zel, Lisa, Keri and Aida for the wonderful care you have given to me. You have given me a reason to smile again.
Dear Dr. Hecht & Staff,
I just wanted to take a moment to thank you – I have recently joined the ranks of the rest of the Dentist fearing people who put themselves in your capable hands.
My story is quite similar to many of those appearing in your book of Testimonials; however, I think it’s worth repeating…. I hadn’t been to a dentist in 15+ years. I knew that the health of my teeth and gums was deteriorating rapidly. I searched high and low for adentist who was sensitive to those of us who shake with fear at the thought of even sitting in the dentist chair let alone having work done.
I was in a panicked state the entire time I thought about making that first phone call. From the first discussion with Lisa on the phone, I began to gain confidence. Once I had my consultation, I was really feeling confident that I had made the right choice. not once did you ridicule me for waiting so long or poke fun at my fear. Though, I’d be lying if I said that from the time of my consultation to the actual treatment day I wasn’t a wreck, when I arrived the morning of my procedure, fully educated as to what was to take place, a calm came over me. I was handed a special “cocktail” that made me more relaxed than I have ever been in my life. Next thing I know, my wife is driving my home. I experienced no pain and no discomfort during or after the procedure.
I don’t know how to thank you for putting me back on the right track. I have been following your instructions to maintain excellent oral hygiene to ensure that we remain in more of a maintenance mode rather then the state I was in when i first walked into your office.
Again I thank you and your competent staff for giving me the courage to take the necessary steps toward ensuring that my teeth and gums remain healthy. I can actually chew on both sides now….I haven’t been able to do that in years! You can be sure that I will recommend your services to anyone with a fear of Dentists. In fact I’ve already shared my experience with several members to our family as well as some friends.
Thank you, Thank you, Thank You,
Dear Dr. Hecht & Staff
I just wanted to say thank you so much for the best dental experience I have ever had. I came to your office with a lifelong fear of the dentist: the sound of the drill, the anxiety of needles and a low tolerance for pain. I appreciate your straightforward honest style and for keeping me so well informed every step of the way. It was great to know what to expect and even better that everything that was described to me about the sedation procedure and treatment happened in the manner it was told to me, with no surprises.
The painless experience resulted in my dental needs being brought up to date with no trauma, no drama.
The staff should be commended for their knowledge, professionalism and compassion. Every one of them are quality people who know their job and the profession so that questions are immediately answered and paperwork is executed with ease.
I guarantee satisfaction and never having to worry about being afraid of the dentist again.
Dear Dr. Hecht & Staff:
When I heard the word dentist, I would go into a panic. I have been trying for years to get a courage, to go to a dentist.
As a child, I went through a terrifying experience, that I just couldn’t overcome. Every time I would even think dentist I would tremble.
So come January, I opened the book to the yellow pages, and picked Dr. Hecht, cause he cures all babies & chickens. When you sit in his chair he’s like magic all your fears are gone. He makes you feel so calm and comfortable.
And the entire staff Zel, Lisa, Keri, and Aida are the warmest, kindest, nicest, and most caring people. When I go to the office, I fell like I’m visiting family, and I’m paying a social visit.
Dr. Hecht and staff thanks for curing this baby. I am so grateful to you all…
Dear Dr. Hecht & Staff:
I am your 58 year old hard case… When I called your staff was the most comforting and understanding human beings I have spoken to in a medical setting in a long time. As a medical professional it’s always obvious to me when you call any kind of medical office you are more than likely given the bum’s rush due to over work, or just plain rudeness. It was very obvious from the minute your staff picked up the phone your policy was different. Knowing that the person you are speaking to is actually listening to the words you are saying and not just going through the motion of setting up an appointment is the most reassuring feeling. Hearing the attention in each and every member’s voice is like a welcomed sedative. Even before you start your treatments the comfort level is exceptional. From your front desk to your operating suites the courtesy is evident in ever corner of your practice.
Sedation Dentistry is a marvel, rivaled only by your patience & understanding. I was very embarrassed by the appearance of my mouth and even though you were brutally honest with me you were never offensive or condescending. Your frank approach to a self inflicted condition was and is your special brand of look you in the eye confidence. What you really hear is “trust me and we will get through this together”, and without ever saying those words, that is what your self assured presence and confidence makes me feel. You said no pain there was no pain. You said I wouldn’t remember I didn’t.
Dear Dr. Hecht & Your Lovely Team:
I just wanted to take some time to express my appreciation for my first visit yesterday. All my anxieties and fears about “Dentist” have been erased. You and your staff have provided an environment of sheer gentleness, patience, much support and service with a smile from the moment I walked through the door. I’m looking forward to my next visit. Thanks a million, You’re the best.Your New Patient,
Dear Dr. Hecht & Staff:
… Dr. Hecht’s no nonsense approach and his honesty in telling me not what I wanted to hear but what was necessary convinced me to follow through…
… I have nothing but praise for Dr. Hecht and his highly trained staff of professionals. I recently had the work performed and am very happy to report that it was as painless as possible. From the moment of my first appointment to the day of the surgery, Dr. Hecht’s staff did everything they could to ease my fears. Their professionalism, dedication, compassion, and concern for the patient were clearly evident from the very first visit. Therefore, I wish to extend my heartfelt thanks to Dr. Hecht, and his entire staff of professionals for their uncommon compassion and professionalism and for making my experience completely painless.
To The Entire Staff At Staten Island Dental Care:
…It had been around 16 years since my last dental visit, where I had a tooth pulled while under general anesthesia. Needless to say I never returned for a follow-up visit. When I called Staten Island Dental Care to inquire about having a tooth pulled while under general anesthesia, they informed me that they were using “sleep dentistry” which was equal to anesthesia, but you take a medication called Triazolam and you don’t feel or remember anything. Of course, I DID NOT BELIEVE THEM. I went to Dr. Hecht’s office a few days later for a consultation and x-rays. I was confirmed that I had to take care of my tooth immediately. It was cracked in half and it had a huge cavity in it. There were also 2 other teeth with cavities that needed filling, as well as a cleaning that was desperately needed. On my way out of the office I spoke to Peggy and Zel at the front desk. They assured me that I would be fine. They explained how they were also afraid of the dentist. Peggy told me that she had dental work done with Triazolam and didn’t feel or remember the procedure – once again I DID NOT BELIEVE HER. I thought she was just telling me that to trick me into coming back…
… Well over the next few days things started to spark up in my mouth. I immediately called Dr. Hecht’s office (and he answered). He was delighted to hear from me. I explained what was going on. I made an appointment for the following Thursday. The day of the extraction came and the next day day I can remember is Friday. In fact I used the bathroom twice and even spoke to my mother on the telephone right after the surgery and do not even remember that. I did not feel anything and do not remember anything about the surgery. It is unbelievable. In fact, while I was having the surgery, they filled the other 2 cavities, and gave mea cleaning. I was the biggest chicken when it came to needles, noises, tool sightings, the dentist chair, the dentist office, cleaning’s and anything associated with a dentist. Guess what guys – I returned for a follow up visit and a cleaning without Triazolam or sweet air. In closing I would like to invite anyone who wants a live confessional on my dental visit to call me (the girls have the telephone #) and I too am now a believer!!
Dear Dr. Hecht:
I wanted to thank you for a most pleasurable experience in dental care at your office. From the tea, coffee and soda in your waiting room to the gentle caring of your professional team, you are truly a practitioner of social therapy.
Firstly, I was attracted to the banner advertising your dental practice, and when I saw the Volkswagen Beetle it brought back many happy memories for me. From this, I surmised that you were a kindred spirit.
When having a cleaning, I usually experience much pain and discomfort due to the sensitivity of my gums and teeth. I was worked on gently by your hygienist who engaged me in an interesting conversation while watching Cher on TV.
Keep up the great work and continue to allow a visit to the dentist to be a fun experience. I look forward to my next visit.
Dear Dr. Hecht:
… I finally met a dentist who understands the fears of so many, including myself. Dr. Hecht’s focus is addressing the fears of a patient and then their teeth. I consider myself an ex-chicken and I happily recommend “Sedation Dentistry”.
– Denise F.
Dear Dr. Hecht:
… Even though Dr. Hecht and everyone were so nice I was still apprehensive about being sedated…. Garnering some confidence, the night before I took the pills that I was given and in the morning an hour before my appointment I took the other ones. When I arrived at the office I was pleasantly greeted by Zel. I had butterflies in my stomach and was quite drowsy. I was escorted into the room and a mask was put on my face and that was all I remember. The next thing I remembered was Debbign taking me by the arm to another room to recover. They gave me, which I really appreciated, the majority of the medication that I needed. I went home and took a nap and when I woke up to my surprise I had no pain. In fact, I never felt any pain after the procedure. Way to go Dr. Hecht!
Dear Dr. Hecht & Staff:
I would just like to extend my sincere thanks for the wonderful care you all gave me.
It took quite a long time for me to gain the courage and confidence to walk into your office. When I finally made the step, I was greeted with kind and gentle professionals. I can’t explain how comfortable you all made me feel. My fears were soon pushed aside as you reassured me that I was going to have a beautiful smile once again. Almost instantly, my anxiety turned into anticipation. I found it amazing that there was no pain during or after the procedure. Less than 24 hours after my surgery, I was out to breakfast and running errands. You are amazing!
I cannot express how wonderful I feel now that my teeth are the way they should be. You all made it possible for me to smile confidently once again.
With Sincere Thanks,
Dear Dr. Hecht:
From the moment I walked into the office and was greeted so warmly, through the attentive care, preliminary arrangements )with your very thorough explanations) and treatment, I have been overwhelmed with gratitude and admiration for you and your very congenial and efficient staff….
After the initial shock of the amount of work that had to be done on my teeth, the next hurdle was the fear of what I would be in for during the procedure. Sedation dentistry is a miracle! It is a truly marvelous and relatively pain-free process – a far cry from my past experiences. I was thoroughly informed about what was going to be done and felt completely confident in you and your assistants as we moved forward. I am still amazed that I was able to respond to your commands and yet not feel the work you were doing. What a blessing!
To say “thank you” is inadequate ….. Staten Island Dental Care with Sedation Dentistry is the premier place to go!
Very truly yours,
Dear Dr. Hecht & Staff:
I had suffered an accident while serving in the Marine Corp about 35 years ago. As a result, I became very wary of having anyone come near me with anything sharp.
Finally however, because of many sore and painful teeth and gums, I had no choice but to seek professional help. I was very skeptical. Your methods impressed me very much. I felt absolutely no pain with any of the work I had done which included three teeth being pulled.
Even the follow up visits were pleasant and painless. Thanks to you and your wonderful office staff, my mouth feels great and looks great too. I am very grateful to have found such a caring and concerned Dentist.
Dear Dr. Hecht:
I would like to thank you for the excellent treatment I received while in your care yesterday. You and your staff helped to make a very uncomfortable procedure as comfortable and pleasant as possible. I would also like to thank you for the follow-up calls I received at my home yesterday evening. The professionalism and thoughtfulness both you and your staff showed was greatly appreciated.
If I can ever be of assistance to you on either a professional or personal level, please do not hesitate to call.
Dear Dr. Hecht:
I wanted to take the time to thank you for the truly memorable dental experience – memorable in that it wascompletely painless, and caused me to realize just how baseless my dental phobia was. Although the tooth extraction required several anesthetic injections, I never felt a single one.
The experience was pleasant from the moment I stepped into your office. The environment was calming and very professional, and all of your staff went out of their way to insure my comfort.
You and your staff have my heartfelt thanks. Please express my best wishes and regards to all in your office. I can proudly say without equivocation: I have found my dentist for life!
Dear Dr. Hecht & Team:
I am writing this letter to express sincere appreciation and gratitude for making a believer out of me.
A friend of mine, who is a very satisfied patient of yours, had recommended me to your office about a year ago. I thought surely it worked for her, but it would never work for me. Her fears could never be as bad as mine. Being stubborn I decided to go to my previous dental office for a cleaning and ending up walking out of the office in tears. It was a Monday evening, at approximately 9 PM when I called your office. I was so upset as I explained my dilemma to Peggy. It had been about 10 years since I had any “real” dental work, and it was really starting to show. Peggy was so compassionate and I truly felt like she understood my fears. Before I hung up the phone, I had an appointment for a consultation later that week. Still apprehensive, I met Dr. Hecht and he actually seemed to understand my fears as well and wouldn’t do anything without letting me know exactly what he was doing, and asking me if it was okay. I was comfortable after the first 10 minutes and knew that my coming was not a mistake. Dr. Hecht was with me over one hour during my initial visit and I was shocked at how much time he dedicated to a new patient, taking time to explain everything and answer any question I might’ve had. I made a second appointment to come in to further discuss what type of work I required, and the different types of sedation that were offered to me. I opted to take medication orally to put me to sleep and scheduled my dental work for the following week. On the day of my scheduled procedure, I got to the office at 9 AM, one hour prior to my appointment time to begin the sedation process. I remember being a wreck, still thinking there was no way I was going to fall asleep, and of course I would hear every sound (DRILL) going on in that room. And then I remember going back to the room and sitting in a chair that was so comfortable, with one of my favorite music DVD’s playing on television. The next thing I remember is being in my apartment eating soup, and it was 7:30 PM. I was a little sleepy, but in absolutelyNO PAIN. I awoke the next day feeling 100%. I knew the work had been done because my teeth looked fabulous, but had not memory of the procedure and still had no pain. I WAS SHOCKED!!! It had actually worked for me, and I was sold.
I have since been back for follow up visits and a cleaning and have been continuously pleased with each and every member of Dr. Hecht’s team. I can go on and on … I realize this letter is long, but there is not enough I can say about how happy I am to have found Staten Island Dental Care. Peggy, Zel, Lisa, Rosie, Debbie, and of course, Dr. Hecht – you are all WONDERFUL . . .Together you make all the difference in the world.
My smile is bigger and brighter than ever before, and I have Staten Island Dental Care to thank for it … you have a patient for life.
Dear Dr. Hecht:
When I came to your office on Jan 8, 2004, it had been many years since I had been to a dentist. If it were not for an infection and pain, I probably would have gone many more years without seeing a dentist.
I know it was fear and apprehension that prevented me from receiving needed dental care. By not seeing a dentist for so long a period and compounded by anxiety, I did not know what to expect.
However, I can honestly say that when I came to your office for the first visit, I was immediately put at rest when you explained each step that you would take in my care. The treatment I received from you was not only painless and without after effects, but the care preformed by you and your excellent staff was highly commendable.
Than you again for bringing me back to the dentist and I look forward to seeing you at my semi-annual visits.
Dear Dr. Hecht:
I’m writing this well deserved letter to you to let you know how much I appreciate all you’ve done for me as your patient. In the past years I had some painful and unpleasant experiences with dentists, unfortunately because of it I neglected my teeth.
Becoming your patient was the best decision I ever made. You and your wonderful staff made what could have been a dreadful and painful experience, a pleasure. Your office is run in a very professional manner. All of you receptionists and hygienists are warm, friendly and compassionate, besides being courteous. What I liked most was whenever I had an appointment with you I was never left waiting for more then 5 minutes. Dr. Hecht you certainly know how to treat your patients
