To The Entire Staff At Staten Island Dental Care: |
| ...It had been around 16 years since my last dental visit, where I had a tooth pulled while under general anesthesia. Needless to say I never returned for a follow-up visit. When I called Staten Island Dental Care to inquire about having a tooth pulled while under general anesthesia, they informed me that they were using "sleep dentistry" which was equal to anesthesia, but you take a medication called Triazolam and you don't feel or remember anything. Of course, I DID NOT BELIEVE THEM. I went to Dr. Hecht's office a few days later for a consultation and x-rays. I was confirmed that I had to take care of my tooth immediately. It was cracked in half and it had a huge cavity in it. There were also 2 other teeth with cavities that needed filling, as well as a cleaning that was desperately needed. On my way out of the office I spoke to Peggy and Zel at the front desk. They assured me that I would be fine. They explained how they were also afraid of the dentist. Peggy told me that she had dental work done with Triazolam and didn't feel or remember the procedure - once again I DID NOT BELIEVE HER. I thought she was just telling me that to trick me into coming back... |

Dear Dr. Hecht:I wanted to thank you for a most pleasurable experience in dental care at your office. From the tea, coffee and soda in your waiting room to the gentle caring of your professional team, you are truly a practitioner of social therapy. |

Dear Dr. Hecht:... I finally met a dentist who understands the fears of so many, including myself. Dr. Hecht's focus is addressing the fears of a patient and then their teeth. I consider myself an ex-chicken and I happily recommend "Sedation Dentistry". |

|
Dear Dr. Hecht:... Even though Dr. Hecht and everyone were so nice I was still apprehensive about being sedated.... Garnering some confidence, the night before I took the pills that I was given and in the morning an hour before my appointment I took the other ones. When I arrived at the office I was pleasantly greeted by Zel. I had butterflies in my stomach and was quite drowsy. I was escorted into the room and a mask was put on my face and that was all I remember. The next thing I remembered was Debbign taking me by the arm to another room to recover. They gave me, which I really appreciated, the majority of the medication that I needed. I went home and took a nap and when I woke up to my surprise I had no pain. In fact, I never felt any pain after the procedure. Way to go Dr. Hecht! |
Dear Dr. Hecht & Staff:I would just like to extend my sincere thanks for the wonderful care you all gave me. |
|
|
Dear Dr. Hecht:From the moment I walked into the office and was greeted so warmly, through the attentive care, preliminary arrangements )with your very thorough explanations) and treatment, I have been overwhelmed with gratitude and admiration for you and your very congenial and efficient staff.... |

Dear Dr. Hecht & Staff:I had suffered an accident while serving in the Marine Corp about 35 years ago. As a result, I became very wary of having anyone come near me with anything sharp. Finally however, because of many sore and painful teeth and gums, I had no choice but to seek professional help. I was very skeptical. Your methods impressed me very much. I felt absolutely no pain with any of the work I had done which included three teeth being pulled. Even the follow up visits were pleasant and painless. Thanks to you and your wonderful office staff, my mouth feels great and looks great too. I am very grateful to have found such a caring and concerned Dentist. Thank You, |

Dear Dr. Hecht:I would like to thank you for the excellent treatment I received while in your care yesterday. You and your staff helped to make a very uncomfortable procedure as comfortable and pleasant as possible. I would also like to thank you for the follow-up calls I received at my home yesterday evening. The professionalism and thoughtfulness both you and your staff showed was greatly appreciated. If I can ever be of assistance to you on either a professional or personal level, please do not hesitate to call. Sincerely, |
Dear Dr. Hecht:I wanted to take the time to thank you for the truly memorable dental experience - memorable in that it was completely painless, and caused me to realize just how baseless my dental phobia was. Although the tooth extraction required several anesthetic injections, I never felt a single one. The experience was pleasant from the moment I stepped into your office. The environment was calming and very professional, and all of your staff went out of their way to insure my comfort. You and your staff have my heartfelt thanks. Please express my best wishes and regards to all in your office. I can proudly say without equivocation: I have found my dentist for life! Best Regards, |

Dear Dr. Hecht & Team:I am writing this letter to express sincere appreciation and gratitude for making a believer out of me. A friend of mine, who is a very satisfied patient of yours, had recommended me to your office about a year ago. I thought surely it worked for her, but it would never work for me. Her fears could never be as bad as mine. Being stubborn I decided to go to my previous dental office for a cleaning and ending up walking out of the office in tears. It was a Monday evening, at approximately 9 PM when I called your office. I was so upset as I explained my dilemma to Peggy. It had been about 10 years since I had any “real” dental work, and it was really starting to show. Peggy was so compassionate and I truly felt like she understood my fears. Before I hung up the phone, I had an appointment for a consultation later that week. Still apprehensive, I met Dr. Hecht and he actually seemed to understand my fears as well and wouldn't do anything without letting me know exactly what he was doing, and asking me if it was okay. I was comfortable after the first 10 minutes and knew that my coming was not a mistake. Dr. Hecht was with me over one hour during my initial visit and I was shocked at how much time he dedicated to a new patient, taking time to explain everything and answer any question I might’ve had. I made a second appointment to come in to further discuss what type of work I required, and the different types of sedation that were offered to me. I opted to take medication orally to put me to sleep and scheduled my dental work for the following week. On the day of my scheduled procedure, I got to the office at 9 AM, one hour prior to my appointment time to begin the sedation process. I remember being a wreck, still thinking there was no way I was going to fall asleep, and of course I would hear every sound (DRILL) going on in that room. And then I remember going back to the room and sitting in a chair that was so comfortable, with one of my favorite music DVD's playing on television. The next thing I remember is being in my apartment eating soup, and it was 7:30 PM. I was a little sleepy, but in absolutely NO PAIN. I awoke the next day feeling 100%. I knew the work had been done because my teeth looked fabulous, but had not memory of the procedure and still had no pain. I WAS SHOCKED!!! It had actually worked for me, and I was sold. I have since been back for follow up visits and a cleaning and have been continuously pleased with each and every member of Dr. Hecht's team. I can go on and on ... I realize this letter is long, but there is not enough I can say about how happy I am to have found Staten Island Dental Care. Peggy, Zel, Lisa, Rosie, Debbie, and of course, Dr. Hecht - you are all WONDERFUL . . . Together you make all the difference in the world. My smile is bigger and brighter than ever before, and I have Staten Island Dental Care to thank for it ... you have a patient for life. -Christine S.

Dear Dr. Hecht:When I came to your office on Jan 8, 2004, it had been many years since I had been to a dentist. If it were not for an infection and pain, I probably would have gone many more years without seeing a dentist. I know it was fear and apprehension that prevented me from receiving needed dental care. By not seeing a dentist for so long a period and compounded by anxiety, I did not know what to expect. However, I can honestly say that when I came to your office for the first visit, I was immediately put at rest when you explained each step that you would take in my care. The treatment I received from you was not only painless and without after effects, but the care preformed by you and your excellent staff was highly commendable. Than you again for bringing me back to the dentist and I look forward to seeing you at my semi-annual visits. Respectfully

Dear Dr. Hecht:I'm writing this well deserved letter to you to let you know how much I appreciate all you've done for me as your patient. In the past years I had some painful and unpleasant experiences with dentists, unfortunately because of it I neglected my teeth. Becoming your patient was the best decision I ever made. You and your wonderful staff made what could have been a dreadful and painful experience, a pleasure. Your office is run in a very professional manner. All of you receptionists and hygienists are warm, friendly and compassionate, besides being courteous. What I liked most was whenever I had an appointment with you I was never left waiting for more then 5 minutes. Dr. Hecht you certainly know how to treat your patients Respectfully, |
